Faiza Xaba is a Master Trainer for the Intel® Learn Easy Steps digital literacy curriculum in the Intel® She Will Connect program with our partner in South Africa, Siyafunda CTC. Faiza’s story is very inspiring and doesn’t hide the fact that her path, which she calls “Journey to becoming Intel master trainer”, was not easy, but she was determined to give it her best. Here’s her story:
“I initially started as a volunteering facilitator and administrator in September 2016 at Siyafunda CTC because I was bored of staying at home. Not just the boredom pushed me to do so, but I also wanted to get some experience in what I love doing (facilitating). It was very challenging and exciting at the same time as I got to learn a lot in this journey.
I am not a superwoman that knows everything. I teamed up with the pros of the field who trained and guided me through this journey. I was trained on Intel® Learn Easy steps by my mentor, friend, and a colleague, who had taught me when I joined the Intel® She Will Connect program. She gave me tips and guidance on how to facilitate digital literacy for women in the Intel® She Will Connect program.
I was then selected to be an Intel Master Trainer at Siyafunda CTC. I have to say I gained a lot of experience that I am willing to share it with others just like how Puleng Moyaha shared her knowledge with me.
I faced challenges during my journey in becoming a master trainer, but as an individual it’s up to me to rise, dust myself and take up new ventures
This is what keeps me going: Don’t stop until you’ve got what you want and you are satisfied”
